Education, as most know it, hasn't changed much since the Middle Ages. Instead, new initiatives and approaches have simply been layered on top of a traditional syllabus and familiar structure. In our book, Transforming Ice Age Schools, we liken this layering to an educational glacier. Yet with any glacier, when it reaches a critical depth and width, it begins to move.... and that time in education is now. Of course, no one can move a glacier alone, but we can all move ice cubes. Our book guides leaders to identify those ice cubes, and begin a school transformation process that better addresses the needs of this century. Following our simple tips, educational leaders will collectively melt the glacier and discover a transformed system beneath.
